What building here is actually like
Shafter and Wasco sit at the intersection of two very different loads. On one side, deep-well irrigation pumping across almond and pistachio ground, heavily seasonal and often on multiple meters. On the other, the newer logistics parks with large roofs, modest loads and fleet electrification plans.
Irrigation work here is all about the meters. A ranch with four pump services needs four models, because generation on one service does not offset consumption on another without a specific utility arrangement.
The logistics parks are the opposite problem: far more roof than load. Sizing to the load shape rather than the available area is what keeps those projects honest.
